Videotaped deposition under oath, taken under subpoena on July 16, 2026. Black appeared voluntarily for a transcribed interview on June 26, 2026 but refused to answer questions about non-disclosure agreements with women tied to Jeffrey Epstein; the Committee issued two subpoenas mid-interview, one for the NDAs and one compelling his return under oath. The June 26 transcript is published here. The July 16 deposition transcript has not been released.
Deposition subpoenas that produced no transcript because no deposition was taken. Where a witness answered in writing instead, the letter is linked and quoted from the original, not from the Committee's summary of it. William Barr, Bill Clinton and Hillary Clinton were served in the same batch and were deposed; their transcripts are above.
James Comey
Letter in lieu of deposition
FBI Director, 2013 to 2017; Deputy Attorney General to 2005 · Subpoena return date 2025-10-07 · House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Wrote on October 1, 2025 that he offered the letter “in lieu of a deposition that would unproductively consume the Committee's scarce time and resources,” and stated: “At no time during my service at the Department of Justice or the FBI do I recall any information or conversations that related to Jeffrey Epstein or Ghislaine Maxwell. I make this representation pursuant to Title 18, United States Code, Section 1001.”
U.S. Attorney General, 2021 to 2025 · Subpoena return date 2025-10-02 · House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Wrote to Chairman Comer on September 24, 2025, stating the letter was submitted with the understanding that 18 U.S.C. 1001 governs its contents. Garland noted that Jeffrey Epstein died and Ghislaine Maxwell was indicted before he became Attorney General, and wrote: “Although I cannot rule out that I ever received a status update on matters pertaining to Mr. Epstein or Ms. Maxwell in my role as Attorney General, I do not recall any such update or any other kind of report.”
U.S. Attorney General, 2009 to 2015 · Subpoena return date 2025-09-30 · House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
His counsel wrote on September 26, 2025 that Holder “does not recall being involved in the Epstein or Maxwell cases during his service as Attorney General,” and described diligence conducted to confirm that recollection: a review of public information and interviews with senior staff who served with him. Counsel confirmed awareness that 18 U.S.C. 1001 applies to submissions to congressional committees.
U.S. Attorney General, 2015 to 2017 · Subpoena return date 2025-09-09 · House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
The Committee has confirmed it accepted a formal written declaration under penalty of prosecution for false statements, in lieu of the deposition. Unlike the Holder, Garland and Comey letters, this declaration has not been published, so its actual wording cannot be checked against the Committee's summary of it.
FBI Director, 2001 to 2013 · Subpoena return date 2025-09-02 · House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
Subpoenaed for a deposition on September 2, 2025. The Committee later withdrew the subpoena, stating that it did so after learning Mueller 'has health issues that preclude him from testifying'. He is the only witness in the batch whose subpoena was withdrawn rather than answered.
U.S. Attorney General, 2017 to 2018 · Subpoena return date 2025-08-28 · House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform
The Committee has confirmed it accepted a formal written declaration under penalty of prosecution for false statements, in lieu of the deposition. Unlike the Holder, Garland and Comey letters, this declaration has not been published, so its actual wording cannot be checked against the Committee's summary of it.

Survivor testimony. Ms. Ransome has spoken publicly about her own experience in her own name, including in a published memoir. The transcript is listed here as part of the documentary record; this project does not analyse survivor testimony for inconsistency.
Two-day civil deposition in the Giuffre defamation suit, later unsealed. Day one, 22 April 2016, runs to 465 pages, examined by Sigrid McCawley of Boies Schiller & Flexner; day two, 22 July 2016, runs to 199 pages. She answered rather than invoking the Fifth Amendment: about 127,000 words, against 107 objections to the form of the question. Both days are linked above as the exhibits they were filed as in Giuffre v. Maxwell.

He invoked his Fifth, Sixth and Fourteenth Amendment rights to the great majority of questions across all three, so there is little sworn testimony in them.
