John Duffy was CEO of JPMorgan's U.S. Private Bank who personally met with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein on April 24, 2013, despite internal knowledge of Epstein's criminal history. Rather than flagging this meeting with compliance, Duffy gave his team a 'heads up' about Epstein's contact, and the meeting was arranged through Epstein's own calendar rather than proper bank channels. According to the USVI complaint, Duffy participated in at least five executive meetings about Epstein's risks between 2008-2013, yet the bank maintained the relationship until July 2013.
