His McLean, Virginia mansion was confirmed as a trafficking site by victim attorney Jeanne Christensen of Wigdor LLP (EFTA02731512): a victim was screened by Maxwell in a hotel room, then taken to Robert's McLean VA mansion where Jeffrey Epstein and Maxwell were present and Jeffrey Epstein 'gave her the once over and nod of approval.' The victim's own diary names 'Mr. Robert and his pretty wife Jill' at the initial recruitment party where she first encountered Maxwell. Ghislaine Maxwell named him in her DOJ proffer as one of Jeffrey Epstein's 1990s financial clients. An Epstein-to-Maxwell email describes someone as 'very much like joe roberts... boring, rich, hick, blackmailed by the girl in p.b., from donad trumps party.' Eva Dubin sent Robert's phone numbers to Jeffrey Epstein (May 2009). Jeffrey Epstein phone records show 45 calls to McLean VA, with 29 in Jul-Aug 2003 alone. After Robert's death from cancer in December 2011, Jeffrey Epstein forwarded his NYT obituary writing 'I have so many friends dying now of cancer.'
