Told colleagues he "would trust Epstein with his daughters" (late 2009); "didn't actually do" what he pled guilty to (Jan 2011). Private Bank CEO: "if I were asked why is Jeffrey Epstein a client, I would have to answer, because of Jes Staley."
• usvi-v-jpmorgan: Exchanged ~1,200 emails with Epstein from JPMorgan account (2008-2012). Emailed Erdoes Aug 2006: "The age difference between husbands and wifes would have fit in well with Jeffrey." JPMorgan tasked Staley to discuss human trafficking allegations with Epstein directly. Epstein advised Staley on his salary negotiations July 2008.
• usvi-v-jpmorgan Doc 221: Visited Epstein day after July 2006 arrest. Epstein "admitted to the alleged conduct of engaging in sex for money with young women — only denying the ages." Emailed Erdoes: "I've never seen him so shaken. He also adamantly denies the ages." Continued advocating to keep Epstein as client for 7 more years.
