Epstein's last cellmate at the Metropolitan Correctional Center. Assigned to Epstein on July 30, 2019 after psychology staff mandated a cellmate following Epstein's July 23 suicide attempt. Told Epstein: 'don't hang yourself up in my cell.' Departed MCC at 8:00 AM on August 9, 2019 — no replacement cellmate was assigned. Epstein was found dead ~22.5 hours later. Reyes was proffered on August 16, 2019. Died November 27, 2020 of COVID-19. AUSA email upon learning of his death: 'Sorry to hear that. You're correct that we didn't need his testimony.'
