Chief of the Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section (CEOS) at DOJ. Traveled from Washington to attend the September 2007 meeting with Epstein's defense team at Acosta's invitation. Strongly supported federal prosecution. His May 15, 2008 letter to Jay Lefkowitz concluded that 'U.S. Attorney Acosta could properly use his discretion to authorize prosecution' — but by then the NPA had been signed 8 months earlier, making the finding moot.
