Israeli-born American businessman and a longtime social contact of Jeffrey Epstein in New York. He was President of Raymond Weil USA, the American arm of the Swiss watchmaker, until 2009; his family held a controlling share of the Israeli messaging app Viber until 2014; and he was a co-owner of the Manhattan restaurant and nightclub Lavo. Shabtai appears repeatedly on Jeffrey Epstein's calendars for dinners and appointments between 2011 and 2016 and helped arrange restaurant reservations for Jeffrey Epstein's guests, including Woody Allen and Soon-Yi Previn. Financial records include a $6,100 check to Shabtai dated April 13, 2017, and a $200,000 transaction that Jeffrey Epstein's own records describe as a promissory note. Jeffrey Epstein was also involved in a hotel room block for the 2015 wedding of Benny and Stacey Shabtai.
