Tunisian-French haute couture designer, one of the most influential couturiers of his era, who died in 2017. He was a social host in Jeffrey Epstein's Paris orbit: in 2014 and 2015 Alaia invited Jeffrey Epstein and his circle, including members of the Rothschild family and Terje Rod-Larsen, to dinners in the kitchen of his Marais atelier, and on one visit gave a gift. Jeffrey Epstein's records also include purchases from the Alaia fashion house in Paris.
