Leon Black: Accused of Weaponizing Lawsuits to Silence Accusers and Their Lawyers

March 03, 2026
Law firm Wigdor LLP, which represented multiple women accusing Leon Black of sexual misconduct, filed a civil anti-SLAPP suit in Manhattan alleging Black deployed "multiple frivolous and malicious lawsuits" as retaliation. The complaint cites recently disclosed Epstein emails showing Brad Karp (Paul Weiss chairman) and Epstein plotting to revoke accuser Guzel Ganieva's visa and have her arrested, with Karp invoking Lorin Reisner's connections as "the most recent head of the sdny usao." The suit also references Karp and Reisner directing Nardello & Co. covert surveillance of Black's meetings with women (2015), with transcripts forwarded to Epstein who paid the bills. Courts have already dismissed Black's RICO, defamation, tortious interference, and malicious prosecution claims against Wigdor. Karp stepped down as Paul Weiss chairman earlier in 2026 after this correspondence surfaced.

February 26, 2026
Norwegian politician Børge Brende resigned as President and CEO of the World Economic Forum on February 26, 2026, after the WEF launched an independent investigation into his relationship with Epstein. EFTA releases revealed Brende had three business dinners with Epstein at his NYC townhouse and exchanged 120+ emails and text messages showing a friendly tone — calling Epstein a "brilliant host" and writing "missing you Sir" after a dinner with Epstein, Steve Bannon, and a former Norwegian minister. Their last communication was one week before Epstein's July 2019 arrest. An independent review by outside counsel found "no additional concerns beyond what has already been disclosed." Brende told Norwegian media he regretted not being more open about the dinners: "Like many others, I have felt a great deal of discomfort at being linked to Jeffrey Epstein." Joichi Ito: EFTA Files Threaten Ito's $400M Japanese Government Initiative

February 26, 2026
The New York Times revealed that Joichi Ito, who resigned from MIT Media Lab in 2019 after concealing millions in Epstein-directed donations, has been leading a $400 million Japanese government initiative — the Global Startup Campus Initiative — championed by Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and influential LDP figure Akira Amari. The latest EFTA releases shed new light on the depth of Ito's ties: a Times analysis found 4,000+ emails between Ito and Epstein, at least five visits to Epstein's private island in 2013–2014, and emails where Ito referred to MIT funds as a "slush fund" and confirmed receipt of $500K from Epstein. Epstein jokingly asked if Ito's baby "little Jeffrina" had been born yet. As a result of Ito's involvement, MIT, Harvard, Carnegie Mellon, and Keio University have all distanced themselves from the initiative. Carnegie Mellon's dean wrote: "We will not be part of any project that involves Joi." MIT's vice provost told Japanese officials that faculty would "find it difficult to cooperate" if Ito held a significant position. The Japanese government must decide by July 2026 whether to authorize the project as a legal entity.

Zuckerman Mind Brain Behavior Institute and as an investigator at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He will retain his position as University Professor and continue research and teaching in his lab. Axel, 79, has been at Columbia for 53 years. His name appears in over 900 EFTA documents showing a relationship with Epstein spanning the 1980s through December 2018 — seven months before Epstein's arrest. Documents show Axel and his wife Cornelia Bargmann were booked on business class flights to Epstein's US Virgin Islands property (Dec 2011), he regularly dined with Epstein and Woody Allen, he helped an associate's child gain admission to Columbia, and he participated in a recorded conversation with Epstein that included crude jokes about Epstein's sex offender pardon attempt. Axel stated: "My past association with Jeffrey Epstein was a serious error in judgment, which I deeply regret. I apologize for compromising the trust of my friends, students, and colleagues." Peter Mandelson: Arrested on Suspicion of Misconduct in Public Office

February 23, 2026
Peter Mandelson, 72, was arrested by London's Metropolitan Police on suspicion of misconduct in public office. The arrest follows the EFTA releases, which included email correspondence between Mandelson and Epstein suggesting he may have passed confidential government information to Epstein during his tenure as a UK Cabinet minister between 2008 and 2010, during the global banking crisis. Mandelson was not handcuffed during the arrest and was not accused of sexual misconduct. The arrest came just four days after Prince Andrew was arrested on the same charge — making Mandelson the second high-profile UK figure arrested in connection with Epstein in a single week. Peter Attia: Leaves CBS News Contributor Role Amid Epstein Fallout

February 23, 2026
Peter Attia, longevity physician and best-selling author of Outlive, resigned as a CBS News contributor effective immediately amid growing scrutiny of his email exchanges with Epstein. The contributor role had been newly established as part of a group recruited in January by CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss. A spokesman said Attia "stepped back to ensure his involvement didn't become a distraction." The EFTA files show Attia traded jokes, arranged meetings, and discussed Epstein's health extensively throughout the 2010s. In a Feb 2016 email, Attia made a crude joke about female genitalia. In a post on X on Feb 2, Attia insisted his "interactions with Epstein had nothing to do with his sexual abuse" and said he was "never on his plane, never on his island, and never present at any sex parties," while acknowledging "embarrassing, tasteless, and indefensible" emails.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor: Arrested on Suspicion of Misconduct in Public Office

February 19, 2026
Formerly Prince Andrew, Duke of York, was arrested by Thames Valley Police on February 19, 2026 — his 66th birthday — on suspicion of misconduct in public office, a charge carrying a maximum life sentence in the UK. He was apprehended near Aylsham Police Station in Norfolk, approximately 50 miles from his residence at the Sandringham Estate where he had been living since being evicted from Royal Lodge. The arrest stems from allegations that while serving as UK trade envoy in 2010, he shared confidential government trade documents with Jeffrey Epstein. After 11 hours in custody, he was released "under investigation" — neither charged nor exonerated. Andrew is the first senior British royal to be arrested in nearly 400 years. King Charles III signed a statement pledging the royal family's "full and wholehearted support and co-operation" with the investigation. Andrew had previously been stripped of his royal titles in October 2025 and settled a civil lawsuit with Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre in 2022.

UN Human Rights Experts: UN Experts Declare Epstein Files May Constitute Crimes Against Humanity

February 16, 2026
Ten UN Special Rapporteurs and Independent Experts issued a joint statement declaring the Epstein Files contain "disturbing and credible evidence" of systematic abuse that may meet the legal threshold of crimes against humanity. The experts said the files are "suggestive of the existence of a global criminal enterprise" that has "shocked the conscience of humanity." They categorized the alleged acts as sexual slavery, reproductive violence, enforced disappearance, torture, inhuman and degrading treatment, and femicide — committed "against a backdrop of supremacist beliefs, racism, corruption, extreme misogyny, and the commodification and dehumanisation of women and girls." The experts criticized botched redactions that exposed victim information, warned that "resignations of implicated individuals alone are not an adequate substitute for criminal accountability," and demanded prosecution in all competent national and international courts. They called for statutes of limitations to be lifted and declared: "No one is too wealthy or too powerful to be above the law." The statement was signed by Special Rapporteur on violence against women Reem Alsalem and nine other mandate holders.

February 14, 2026
Columbia University cut all ties with Dr. Thomas Magnani and stripped Dr. Letty Moss-Salentijn of her administrative duties at the College of Dental Medicine after EFTA releases revealed they bypassed normal admissions to help Karyna Shuliak — Epstein's girlfriend and sole Butterfly Trust beneficiary — gain entry. Shuliak's initial application was rejected in 2012; after Epstein signaled a potential donation, Magnani arranged a tour and revived her application, while Moss-Salentijn (then vice dean) developed a personalized study plan. Epstein subsequently gave $100,000 to a public health project run by the dean and $50,000 to the dental school annual fund in Shuliak's name. In an October 2011 email, he recommended a Yale undergraduate for a project with Epstein, referring to her as a "v small goodlooking blonde" and "smart, charming & gorgeous" — three years after Epstein's sex offender conviction. In exchanges about Paris, Epstein referenced "the cheap perfume of the streetwalker" and Gelernter replied about "the golden-hearted whores." When asked if he regretted any part of his association with Epstein, Gelernter responded: "Nothing." He told Yale Dean Jeffrey Brock he was "very glad" he wrote the email about the student, defending it as keeping "the potential boss's habits in mind" since Epstein was "obsessed with girls." Daniel Siad: Rape Complaint Filed in France; Dutch Models Come Forward

February 10, 2026
Swedish model Ebba Karlsson filed a criminal complaint in Paris accusing Daniel Siad of rape and human trafficking, after recognizing him in a photograph from the EFTA releases. Karlsson alleges Siad lured her under the pretext of a modeling career opportunity, then raped her in the swimming pool of a villa in Cannes in 1990, when she was 20 years old. Separately, at least 5 Dutch models came forward saying Siad approached them at events and on streets between 2009 and 2017, forwarding their names and photos to Epstein. One woman approached in Cape Town in 2014 only learned her photos reached Epstein after the files were released. Siad — a Swedish national with Algerian roots — is classified as FBI Subject #13 on the Bureau's numbered subject list of 90 individuals, and was described by attorney Stan Pottinger as "a scout or recruiter of girls and/or women for J. Tisch responded: "Nice report. Funny comment on crying!!!" In other emails, Tisch asked "pro or civilian?" and "Working girl?" about women Epstein introduced. Tisch claimed the exchanges were about "adult women." Commissioner Roger Goodell said the NFL would "look at all facts."

Terje Rød-Larsen: Charged with Complicity in Corruption

2026-02
Norwegian diplomat Terje Rød-Larsen was charged with "complicity in corruption" by Økokrim (Norway's economic crime authority) in connection with his relationship with Epstein. His wife Mona Juul was simultaneously charged with "aggravated corruption." Rød-Larsen had previously resigned in 2020 as president of the International Peace Institute (IPI) after revelations he accepted a $130,000 personal loan from Epstein and solicited donations for IPI from Epstein-linked foundations. EFTA releases later revealed Epstein left $10 million to Rød-Larsen and Juul's children in his will. His attorney stated: "Had he known what is known today, the contact would never have taken place. But poor judgment is not criminal."

Ghislaine Maxwell: Convicted on 5 of 6 Counts, Sentenced to 20 Years

December 29, 2021
Ghislaine Maxwell was convicted on five of six federal charges including sex trafficking of a minor, conspiracy to entice minors to travel for illegal sex acts, conspiracy to transport minors for illegal sex acts, transporting a minor for illegal sex acts, and sex trafficking conspiracy. On June 28, 2022, she was sentenced to 240 months (20 years) in prison. The conviction established that from 1994 through 2004, Maxwell "assisted, facilitated, and participated" in Epstein's abuse of minor girls by helping recruit, groom, and abuse victims as young as 14 years old. This federal conviction proves trafficking "to other individuals" occurred — directly contradicting FBI Director Kash Patel's September 2025 claim of "no credible information" of trafficking.
