These files changed size or content after their initial DOJ publication. Thumbnails show the current DOJ version of the most-changed page. Click to see animated before/after diffs. Size decreases may indicate additional redactions; size increases may indicate re-processing. See also: DOJ Deleted files · Text-only documents.
Page built: 27 August 2026.
Note: Some EFTA IDs are child pages within a parent document and do not have their own DOJ URL. See efta_child_ranges.json for the full parent–child mapping.
Survivor Protection
DOJ re-redactions may expose or obscure survivor identities. It is high priority for us to be notified of any exposed survivors. Automated guardrails are in place but may not catch every instance.
46,829 shrunk, 23,897 grew, 86 ETag-only, net -476,235,178 bytes. 94 of these were blanked: still public at HTTP 200 with every page intact, but the pages themselves emptied. 2 of them are not shown here, withheld under our censorship policy.

Sort & Filter Guide
Size & Structure
EFTA ID
Default. Numerical order by EFTA document number.
Most Pages
Documents with the most pages. Larger documents may have more modified content.
Grew Most (+bytes)
Files that increased the most in size. May indicate added redaction overlays, annotations, or embedded content.
Shrunk Most (-bytes)
Files that decreased the most in size. Often indicates content removal, image downsampling, or text stripping.
Largest Byte Change (abs)
Absolute size difference regardless of direction. Large changes often indicate content removal or replacement.
Visual Diff
Most Pixel Change
Percentage of pixels that differ between original and current version (best page). High values = visual overhaul.
Most Redacted (blacked)
Pages where non-black pixels became black. Detects new redaction boxes applied over previously visible content.
Most Unredacted (un-blacked)
Pages where black pixels became non-black. Detects removal of redaction boxes, potentially revealing content.
Text
Most Text Removed
Files where the most extractable text characters were stripped. Negative text delta.
Most Text Added
Files where the most text was added (e.g. OCR layer, annotations). Positive text delta.
Brightness
Brightness Shift (brighter/darker)
Average brightness change between versions. Brighter = content lightened or removed; darker = content darkened or redacted.
Original/Current Darkest/Brightest
Absolute brightness of the original or current version. Useful for finding photos vs. text documents.
Date
Newest/Oldest Detected
Orders files by how recently we observed the DOJ change — 'Newest Detected' brings the freshest re-redactions to the top. This is relative order only; the actual detection dates are not published.
Newest/Oldest DOJ-Modified date
The file's official modification time on the DOJ server (the Last-Modified header we capture on our status scan), falling back to the PDF's own ModDate/CreationDate. Unlike detection order this is a real published DOJ timestamp — the best answer to "when did the DOJ actually change this file". Coverage grows to ~100% as files are re-scanned.
Visual Filter — what actually changed
Redacted (blacked)
Pixels that turned black between versions — a new redaction box now covers previously visible content. Shows the % blacked badge.
Unredacted / un-blacked
The survivor-exposure signal. Pixels that turned from black to visible — a redaction box was removed, potentially revealing content (≥0.5% of the page). Shows the % unblacked badge.
↳ small un-black >0.1%
Un-blackings below the 0.5% floor — the size of a single redacted name or face. Easy to miss, so they get their own option and a dashed possible un-black badge. Worth a manual look.
Any redaction change
Files where a redaction was added or removed (≥0.5%), plus not-yet-analyzed files — audits both boundary directions in one pass. A superset of Redacted + Unredacted; for a truly complete sweep use Visual = All.
Not analyzed for redaction
The before/after diff never classified the redaction direction for these files (no data), so the Redacted/Unredacted filters can't judge them — they could still hide a re-redaction. Those filters now include these files rather than dropping them, and this option shows only them. Dashed redaction not analyzed badge when they also have a pixel change.
Brightness only
Was it just the brightness? This picks files where the whole page got globally lighter or darker (≥3 luminance) with no redaction change and no text change — i.e. the DOJ simply re-scanned or re-exported the file at a different exposure. A high % px here is not a substantive edit. Marked with the ± lum badge.
Exclude brightness-only
The inverse — hides those pure tone-shift files and keeps everything with a real content change. Not the default: a small re-redaction combined with a whole-page brightness shift could otherwise be hidden, so brightness-only files stay visible unless you choose to exclude them.
Text changed
The extractable text layer gained or lost characters (re-OCR, added/removed text). Shows the chars badge.
No visual change
Under 0.1% of pixels differ — the file changed size or metadata but looks identical. Often just the internal PDF ID only.
Read the badges on each thumbnail to see the change at a glance: % px = share of pixels that differ, % blacked / % unblacked = redaction added / removed, possible un-black = small sub-0.5% un-blacking, redaction not analyzed = changed but redaction direction unknown, ± lum = brightness shift only, chars = text added / removed, ID only = nothing visible changed.
Note on defaults: the ">10b" size filter and "Hide ID-only" only ever hide files where nothing visible changed and the diff was actually analyzed — any file with a real pixel, redaction, or text change, or whose redaction was never analyzed, always shows, so a possible re-redaction is never hidden by a default.
Other filters:Min. new-redaction keeps files whose added redaction covers at least the chosen share of the page (un-blackings always stay visible); Min. pixel change thresholds total pixels differing; Min. pages limits to longer documents.
