Flight Sources & Corroboration
Every flight on this site is cross-referenced across independent sources in a unified index, so each one carries a count of how many of them confirm it. This page is the provenance behind that: what the sources are, how well corroborated the record is, where the sources disagree, and where to download it all. The goal is that any claim about a flight can be checked back to a primary document.
How well corroborated is the record?
Flights by number of independent sources that confirm them. Single-source flights are labelled as such, not hidden.
The sources
Third-party 2020 compilation of pilot David Rodgers' logs (external/EPSTEIN FLIGHT LOGS UNREDACTED.pdf). Named passengers to ~2006.

Where sources disagree
Of 5,835 flights, 29 have a recorded conflict between sources. These are almost entirely tail-number transcription variants of the same aircraft on the same date and route (for example N908JE vs N908TE, an OCR confusion of E, T and C), which actually confirms the sources are describing the same flight rather than contradicting each other. Disagreements are recorded in the index rather than silently resolved; if a substantive route or passenger conflict emerges it will be surfaced here.

Method
One canonical record per flight, keyed on date, origin and destination, merges the sources above. The corroboration count is the number of distinct source types that confirm a flight. Passenger names are redacted at the point the data is built, not in the browser: a protected victim becomes a single anonymous placeholder, so no sort, filter or download can surface them, and an aggregate commercial route is published only where at least three distinct travellers flew it. The handwritten pilot logbooks are the primary record; the widely circulated spreadsheet is a third-party compilation and is labelled as such.See also: Flight Logs (the searchable database, each flight badged by source count) and Aircraft & Operators.
