[0:00]Well, our deposition of former President Clinton has concluded.
[0:03]I want to thank everyone for braving the cold and staying out here.
[0:07]I know it's been a very long day.
[0:09]We believe this was a very productive deposition.
[0:13]I will have to say that President Clinton answered every question or attempted to
[0:19]answer every question.
[0:20]We can talk about some of his answers in more detail.
[0:23]And I'm sure once the video is released and the transcript is released, not only
[0:28]will you, but a lot of people in America will have more questions about some of the
[0:33]answers that were given and where we go from here.
[0:37]But with respect to today, this was a long process.
[0:41]And I want to say this was historical.
[0:43]I believe that in the history of Congress, the two highest ranked officials to ever
[0:48]be deposed by Congress would be President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary
[0:53]Clinton.
[0:54]This is a serious investigation.
[0:57]We will continue to try to get the truth to the American people and justice for the
[1:02]victims.
[1:03]But I think a consistent theme continues to persist throughout all the people that
[1:10]we bring in.
[1:11]Obviously, the government failed the victims.
[1:14]There was justice was not served in Palm Beach when Epstein was was first
[1:21]arrested. We're very concerned about that.
[1:23]We still have lots of questions about how Epstein accumulated so much wealth.
[1:29]And we will continue to bring some more people in and try to get answers.
[1:33]I'm going to yield to the other committee members.
[1:35]But every member of the committee participated both days and asked very good,
[1:40]very good questions.
[1:41]Miss Face.
[1:42]Yes, I want to thank President Clinton for being here today.
[1:44]He was here for a very long day.
[1:47]He did attempt to respond to every single question asked, even when his
[1:52]attorneys told him to shut up.
[1:53]He kept going.
[1:55]I think there's agreement, too, on everybody who is here on both sides of the aisle
[1:59]that we want to get to the bottom of this, whether Jeffrey Epstein was an
[2:02]Intel asset or a honeypot operation, sex trafficker, prostitution ringleader,
[2:08]financier of Ponzi schemes, financial crimes, etc.
[2:13]There is an effort, I believe, in a belief that we need to get to the bottom of
[2:16]this because justice was not served in the Southern District of New York.
[2:19]It was not served in Palm Beach.
[2:21]It certainly hasn't been served for many victims around the world who are
[2:25]victims of this operation.
[2:27]I want to thank my colleagues on both sides of the aisle for their questions
[2:30]today.
[2:31]Representative Sandsberry had a lot of courageous questions.
[2:34]She showed bravery today.
[2:36]She and I never get along.
[2:38]Sometimes, in fact, can be seen arguing an oversight.
[2:41]But I say that because this is a place that is not partisan.
[2:45]This is a place where the country is seeing Republicans and Democrats work
[2:49]together to figure this out, find the truth, and try to come up with solutions
[2:55]so that when this happens, women are believed, men are prosecuted, their
[2:59]abuses are prosecuted, and justice can be seen and can be done.
[3:04]And I want to thank everyone for their hard work.
[3:06]I think I can't say anything about the questions and answers today or
[3:09]yesterday, but I will comment that I believe you'll see some inconsistencies
[3:14]in some of the responses.
[3:16]I brought that to the forefront this afternoon.
[3:18]Thank you.
[3:20]I'd like to close by saying that we do intend to follow up and bring in, and I
[3:26]know that that's up to the chairman's discretion, but some of the
[3:29]co-conspirators that were given lesser sentences that were known to have
[3:33]trafficked young girls, unacceptable.
[3:36]There's a difference between a victim and someone who engaged in prostitution
[3:40]and the trafficking of minors, and that needs to be clarified.
[3:43]I will, again, hold to the same thing that I said earlier and that I do
[3:46]believe, and I'm sure some people on this committee also believe that
[3:50]Jeffrey Epstein was an intelligence asset and running some form of a
[3:53]honeypot operation.
[3:54]I do believe that President Clinton, as well as the secretary, were
[3:58]potentially targets of that operation, and we will leave it at that.
[4:02]And I look forward to seeing you all react to the depositions as I
[4:06]think that this is information that's important and belongs to the
[4:09]American people.
[4:10]Mr. Langworthy?
[4:11]I want to reiterate what some of my colleagues have said.
[4:14]I want to salute our chairman, James Comber, for putting together an
[4:17]extremely professional deposition these last two days.
[4:21]Factual, this was not a highly partisan event like most of our hearings
[4:25]are when we're in Washington.
[4:28]We were there to ask direct questions.
[4:30]I think President Clinton today was quite candid, probably more
[4:33]candid than his attorneys were comfortable with.
[4:36]But I think that this will, obviously, when we release a video of
[4:40]this, I mean, you'll have the opportunity to digest it.
[4:43]But we do have to get justice for the victims, because in all of the
[4:46]political food fight of Washington, D.C., what is getting lost is the
[4:50]fact that there are victims that deserve justice.
[4:56]Depositions like this are important because we need to get answers.
[4:58]We need justice for the victims.
[5:01]Epstein and his associates committed unspeakable evil.
[5:04]And I'm glad that President Clinton and Hillary came out here.
[5:09]What I believe I saw over the last two days was selective memory.
[5:12]Very good details back into the 90s.
[5:15]And other times, I don't know, I don't recall.
[5:18]So we'll ask.
[5:19]We have more questions to answer.
[5:21]Thank you.
[5:22]And we'll answer a couple of questions.
[5:43]Well, we're going to bring more people in.
[5:45]We're not finished.
[5:46]We didn't want to announce names before today.
[5:49]It was so hard to get the Clintons in.
[5:51]I didn't want to do anything to jeopardize losing them.
[5:54]I think we learned some things.
[5:56]We were hoping to get more, but there were many questions, as you will see,
[6:01]in the next 24 hours when the videos were released, that there were a lot of very
[6:07]specific questions about very specific documents and correspondence that were
[6:12]subpoenaed by that we got from the Department of Justice as well as the Epstein estate.
[6:18]Many times, the Clintons couldn't recall or didn't know or denied that they were
[6:25]pertaining to them.
[6:26]But I do think that we picked up some new facts.
[6:30]We asked both Hillary Clinton and Bill Clinton where we should go from here as a committee
[6:35]because we're sincere about trying to get the truth to the American people and hold some
[6:40]bad actors accountable in this.
[6:51]We've got one employee that does the videography,
[6:54]and he had to do the videography today too.
[6:56]So we're going to try to release those.
[7:01]Well, the transcript has to be approved by the attorney.
[7:04]The video could very likely come out before the transcripts.
[7:08]Once the transcribers were in here, we had a whole team of transcribers.
[7:13]They're going to put it on paper.
[7:17]Then both sides will get to approve the transcripts.
[7:20]Then we'll release it.
[7:21]That's standard rules of deposition.
[7:23]We always do that.
[7:24]We will do that with the videos as quick as we can get them all uploaded
[7:28]and cleaned up, any background noise or anything like that.
[7:31]Then we will release them hopefully in the next 24 hours.
[7:47]Well, we have a lot of questions about anyone who spent time with Epstein post
[7:54]conviction, the first conviction.
[7:56]I think that's where, and if anyone disagrees, feel free to speak up.
[8:00]But I think that's where most of our concerns are.
[8:05]Once you knew Jeffrey Epstein was a sex offender,
[8:11]why did you continue a relationship?
[8:14]So stay tuned on that.
[8:25]Well, we were respectful.
[8:32]You can watch the video and say, everybody knows President Clinton.
[8:36]He's got southern people skills.
[8:39]He's a charming individual, obviously.
[8:41]So yes, yes.
[8:58]Well, they said they weren't, I guess, innocent until proven guilty.
[9:03]We're going to go back and look at there were a lot of there were the reason
[9:07]Miss Clinton complained about being asked the same question over and over is because we
[9:11]presented different emails, different documents that would suggest that she was
[9:19]close with Epstein and Maxwell.
[9:20]And obviously she denied that.
[9:22]Now we're going to go back and verify that to see if any type of perjury was committed.
[9:27]Chad, from all the evidence I've seen, he's been exonerated for a long time.
[9:46]Well, we'll discuss that as we move forward.
[9:49]Obviously, we've got more people to bring in and we'll see if any new evidence arises.
[9:53]But right now, I haven't seen anything.
[9:54]And if anybody just say this, the Epstein victims have exonerated President Trump.
[9:59]This is a trope that you guys are a rabbit hole.
[10:01]You guys are going down, but he has been exonerated over and over again by
[10:05]Epstein victims.
[10:07]We need to get all the information on co-conspirators.
[10:09]We still don't even have the names of all the co-conspirators because the southern
[10:13]district of New York is hiding that information by redacting those names.
[10:16]And so wait, just wait, just real real quick.
[10:19]If I can also just add into that, if I can, if I can just elaborate.
[10:32]Real quick was playing 26 flights.
[10:35]I mean, he had information with him for hours and hours.
[10:38]Real quick, Chad, if I can just add in President Clinton and you guys will all be
[10:42]able to hear specifically what he said, reference a 2003, 2002, 2003 conversation of
[10:48]which he did not feel that President Trump had any wrongdoing in regards to Jeffrey
[10:53]Epstein.
[10:54]It's incredibly important that you guys see through the partisan nature of what has
[10:58]become this entire investigation.
[11:01]It's also important that you guys are reporting the fact that everything that
[11:04]we are seeing in these documents to include what I presented to both the
[11:07]secretary and President Clinton show that Epstein was running an intelligence
[11:11]operation.
[11:12]He was targeting people specifically and he was intentionally bringing in and using
[11:16]women to traffic and minors and then exposing vulnerabilities for different
[11:19]people.
[11:20]What I will also say is that, like Nancy has said and the chairman, there is
[11:24]nothing that we are seeing where there's criminal involvement or reason to believe
[11:27]that the president has any wrongdoing.
[11:29]And that is why we are not supporting this crazy theory in bringing him into
[11:33]all of this.
[11:34]We appreciate that President Clinton said what he did.
[11:37]And I will say that that has probably been, I guess, the silver lining in all
[11:40]of this.
[11:40]And I will say Secretary Clinton and President Clinton both offered, I think,
[11:44]suggestions, advice on where this investigation should go based on
[11:48]information they have, things that they've seen, experiences in their
[11:52]positions.
[11:53]And that's helpful to this entire thing.
[11:56]And again, this has been not partisan.
[11:58]We saw really great questions from the Democrat side of the Oversight
[12:01]Committee and the Republican side today.
[12:03]I was very impressed with where this went today.
[12:06]Nancy, can I ask, when have survivors said to you?
[12:12]Yes.
[12:12]Because they've only ever told me they want to see him questioned.
[12:15]No, I've never heard that from a single victim.
[12:18]When we met, when the committee, the Republicans and Democrats met with, what
[12:23]were there, five or six survivors that day?
[12:25]We met with two hours and their attorneys.
[12:28]Of course, the Democrats asked that question numerous times to the victims
[12:32]and they all said they never saw anything or heard anything that
[12:38]Donald Trump did wrong, never saw him on the island or anything else.
[12:41]And if I can just add in real quickly also, there was false allegations made
[12:44]against President Clinton, okay?
[12:46]We are not going to bring in people that were making false allegations
[12:50]against either president.
[12:51]That's not what you do in this, okay?
[12:52]We're looking for justice and that's why we're going to be bringing in
[12:55]some of the known co-conspirators that were given plea deals, okay?
[12:59]That's justice.
[13:03]Last question, yes.
[13:10]I have raised my concerns with redaction to the Southern District of New York.
[13:13]They have a letter of the DOJ and the CIA.
[13:15]My advice to the Department of Justice is release the documents and
[13:23]unredact the names of anyone who wasn't a victim.
[13:29]And I think one of the issues we have, can you be a victim and a victimizer?
[13:35]That's a question that we're going to talk about as we move forward.
[13:39]Now, we look forward to seeing you next week in Washington.
[13:43]We will have further announcements of where we're going with the
[13:46]investigation, but we have two more depositions already booked.
[13:50]One with Jeffrey Epstein's accountant and one with Jeffrey Epstein's lawyer.
[13:55]So those are forthcoming.
[13:57]We'll probably announce some more people we're going to bring in
[14:00]prior to those depositions.
[14:03]But I think we had a good two days in New York City.
[14:06]I appreciate that Clinton's being here.
[14:08]Wish it wasn't so hard to get them here.
[14:10]But as often is the case, it was more difficult than it should have been.
[14:15]But thank you all for being here and we look forward to
[14:17]releasing the video and the transcript as soon as possible.
[14:21]Thank you all.
