[31:26]Yeah, yeah. huge occasion You see the worst system of Can you speak? Uh What was I saying? You're right. That's what I That's what
[31:39]That's what That's what Oh, wow. Uh it will be solved in the
[31:50]I got you. So, They also have a lot Um Yeah. For what it's worth. Thank you.
[31:59]It's not really one-to-one but Last week. Oh, wow. I really designed it to small. Okay. Yeah. Go talk to him.
[32:13]It's like a Yeah, yeah, yeah. So, they're doing Are they a Is this a demo? It's far. Just kidding.
[32:25]And then I'm playing this game. That's a good demo for the >> What? >> How crazy is Yeah. I mean, it's okay. So, it's like super Yeah, yeah. I mean,
[32:37]as you No, that's cool. So, that's at the end of the game. >> [clears throat]
[34:01]>> Yeah, I saw that. >> There is a surcharge.
[35:14]>> Thank you. >> We don't know.
[36:05]night yeah Uh I just want to make some comments. We
[36:20]just walked out of what has been quite frankly a complete disrespect of the process of one of our members uh and and and quite quite frankly the
[36:30]the American public should be outraged at what is happening right now. I want to just start by saying that we opened up what was supposed to be a briefing by asking the Attorney General, which I
[36:41]did multiple times, if she would commit to follow the subpoena that is in place that compels her to answer questions
[36:52]that's under oath, transcribed, and then made available to the American people and she refused on multiple occasions to commit
[37:03]to following the subpoena that Chairman Comer actually just put out. I asked her repeatedly that question, other members asked her that question, and she would not commit to it. It is outrageous, it's
[37:12]infuriating, and it's continuous, this White House cover-up of the Epstein files. It's also clear to us that this is being staged as some kind of fake hearing.
[37:24]We're in the hearing room. We're all be We've all been given 3 minutes of time by the chairman to ask questions. There's no briefing. There was no actual opening statements by the
[37:35]Attorney General or the Deputy AG. There was no oath. Of course, she's not under oath. And she would not commit to actually going under oath and
[37:46]following the law. And so we have been frustrated the second this thing started. We did not get to answer ask any questions. This has been completely set up in a way that's been irresponsible and quite frankly we
[37:57]believe a way for the Attorney General to get out of her answering questions under oath into the public, which we will not accept. And one of our members also was
[38:08]quite quite frankly attacked and insulted by the chairman, which is also not acceptable. So, we're not going to take that anymore. We look forward to asking all of our questions of the Attorney
[38:19]General when she comes in in a deposition, under oath, transcribed, and then made available to the American people. This That's not what this is, and uh
[38:30]Congresswoman Lee >> Uh I just want to say thank you to the ranking member because uh I think the Democrats of this committee have made clear from the very beginning that we are about transparency, accountability,
[38:41]and justice. What we witnessed today was absolutely a farce. From the very beginning, AG uh Bondi has been obstructing justice. She has perjured herself
[38:51]multiple times, and she has been withholding critical documents that would inform this investigation into a pedophile, into corruption, uh and
[39:02]possible uh possibly quite deeper because we do not know who was all involved. Today, what their attempt was was to push this under the rug, do something off the record that you didn't
[39:13]they would not have to be accountable for. So, today, I did not direct my questions to AG Bondi because she already told us in the hearing that she would not come, or we could not or she
[39:23]could not commit to coming to our lawful subpoena uh in a deposition. So, instead, I asked Chairman Comer if he would compel her to come to our deposition. If she did not come, would
[39:35]he force her to, or if he would move for contempt hearings as he did for other people who did not respond to our subpoena. Instead of answering as an adult, he said that I was bitching, um
[39:45]which is again something that would not be allowed if we were operating under the rules of this committee because engaging in personalities is actually something that we are not able to do. If C-SPAN and the public were there, I'd
[39:57]imagine that he would not act that way. Neither here nor there, we expected AG Bondi to be adversarial. We expected her to be confrontational, and we expected her to not offer us much information.
[40:08]But that's why I introduced impeachment articles because she has already been obstructing justice. She has already weaponized the DOJ. She has already uh ended investigations into Trump and his
[40:20]allies. She has used this role essentially as one to help the president. She does not answer to the president. The DOJ does not have
[40:29]the right or the or the privilege of withholding information from an active investigation, ignoring the laws of our land, which the Epstein Transparency Act is with our subpoena
[40:40]from last July is. And the oversight Dems will continue to press for accountability. We'll continue to press for justice for survivors, while also keeping them centered in this. So, at the end of the day, we are
[40:52]still here seeking answers for women, for girls, and for the American public who has demanded justice, who have demanded answers to this. And whether or not they will pretend that the documents
[41:04]that they given us is enough, we already know that they have not complied. And we are asking other people to make sure that we do not let them off the hook right now. So, we look forward to her
[41:14]on-the-record deposition with our committee in response to our lawful subpoena. >> I'll say a few more things and I'm going to open up for questions and if anyone wants to make answer the questions. So, just just as a as a review, I think it's
[41:24]very important. This fake hearing, we found out about it yesterday with no time to prepare, with no format given to us. We had no idea what the even format was going to
[41:36]be until just an hour hour or two before the actual this kind of fake hearing that was set up. And it was clear from the minute it started that the Attorney General is trying to evade and not
[41:46]attend the the mandated subpoena that is put in place. We asked her that question, multiple members asked her the question. She would not respond. She said she'll continue to follow the law. That is not a response.
[41:58]She has a subpoena in place by Chairman Comer. If there's any questions, I'll take those now. >> Aside from the questions about the deposition, which I gathered was one of your major focuses, >> what else have you guys been asking her about? What else has the conversation in
[42:09]the in the room been about? Cuz I know you all said you had a lot of questions for the Attorney General. >> So, I'm going to I'm going to let uh Congressman Lieu speak. Yeah. >> Part and and I I support everything that's been said by my colleagues.
[42:20]Remember, our desire to get the Attorney General and and Todd Blanche under oath is because we we've been faced with lies from the very beginning.
[42:29]Go back to February 21st, 2025. Pam Bondi told us and told the public that the files, the Epstein file client list was on her desk.
[42:40]And then we found out that was a lie. Then she told us that uh that on on July 25th, uh 2025, she said
[42:50]"There's no need for any more disclosure on any of these uh Epstein files." Then we found out later there's there's 6 million documents. They give us 3 million of those.
[43:01]And uh and now we find that that uh that we can't get access to a lot of that information because it's so heavily redacted. And then finally, uh with much pressure from the court and
[43:12]and actually it took an act of Congress to actually get the Attorney General to to participate. And and and to cooperate. And even then, after they said we'll give you the
[43:24]documents, we find out that they actually held back. They withheld the documents that made reference to to President Trump. So, she has repeatedly
[43:33]lied to us and so has Todd Blanche. And now they want to get away with coming in here not under oath so that they can lie some more without any consequences. So,
[43:44]you know, we we we really are about getting to the truth and getting to justice on behalf of of all these victims. It is it is unbelievable that Pam Bondi can sit there in the hearing
[43:55]room like she just did a minute ago and say, "Yes, there were there was evidence from 1,200 women." 1,200 women
[44:06]that either came forward themselves and and and and and testified to the the FBI and gave witness statements and and and said that
[44:16]they had been assaulted by Epstein Epstein and and his co-conspirators or that had gone to attorneys who had brought cases. So, 1,200 women are
[44:27]assaulted over a 20-year period and they can't make a case. They can't make a case for for bringing anyone to justice. No one other than Jeffrey Jeffrey Epstein is is going to face the
[44:39]consequences here. And then on top of it all, Todd Blanche goes and takes the one key witness, the star witness, who was there during all of this, takes her out
[44:48]of a maximum security prison and puts her in a country club type environment. So, now she wants to cooperate with no one. She's got what she wants and she
[44:58]can wait this out. Because she was the one person could that could identify Trump and everybody else. And we And we know there was a there was a pattern of abuse here where we saw young women
[45:09]being taken from Mar-a-Lago to Epstein's Island. That's a fact. That's evidence. And and and all of this is is being, you know,
[45:21]uh obstructed. The course of justice is being obstructed by by the president and by by his his attorney general and his personal attorney.
[45:31]>> Was anything substantial discussed >> Very very little. I mean, very uh >> Truth is is that there were a few questions asked, but other members, of course, asked specifically the Attorney General I'll have Congressman Frost come
[45:42]in. He specifically also asked if she would show up to her deposition and she was very clear if you want to come down >> Look, I mean, to me it's very clear that the purpose of this entire fake hearing,
[45:51]this fake deposition, is the Attorney General trying to weasel herself out of sitting in front of us under oath, under a bipartisan subpoena know, we gave her committee. We asked her multiple times, are you
[46:03]going to come and speak with us under oath? She would not say yes. Filibuster, filibuster, filibuster, would not say yes. And so, why do we and our Republican colleagues say, is this not enough? Why don't you want to speak
[46:14]to her now? We want her under oath because we do not trust her. Why don't we trust her? Because she's a liar. Look at how that Judiciary Committee hearing went.
[46:24]She was spying on members of Congress when they were in the DOJ looking at the documents unredacted. Look at what she's done as far as not putting documents relating to Donald
[46:35]Trump on the website, not releasing them, and only doing it when the public noticed and said something about it. We want her under oath because we don't trust her. We want her under oath
[46:46]because she has shown that she is involved in a cover-up. My Republican colleagues under the last administration would not stand for this with Merrick Garland being in front of them not being under oath. They wouldn't allow that to
[46:57]happen for a second. So, we see this for what it is. This is not a briefing. A briefing is when we sit down and we're getting information from the person giving the briefing. That didn't happen here. She sat down, they started the
[47:08]clock like a hearing. It's a hearing. It's a fake deposition where no one can see what's going on with a zero transcription, where it's not on C-SPAN or anything, and where no one is under
[47:19]oath, and they are allowed to freely lie to members of Congress. >> Is it ongoing now that you guys have left? >> They're They're They're They're They're still asking their questions. I mean, this is again, this is the fake hearing. One more question and we're done, guys.
[47:30]Mr. McCarthy, yeah. Final question. >> Are you supportive of these articles of impeachment that Congress >> Well, I haven't even I I actually haven't seen those. I We're >> Or can I ask by a show of >> I think look, I think at the end at the end of the day, what what's important
[47:41]right now for us is that we hold Pam Bondi accountable for the subpoena she's about to legal She legally has to show up. That's number one. Everything after that, whether it's contempt, whether
[47:52]it's anything else, all follows. She's got to show up for deposition for deposition. That's all. Thanks, everybody. Not Not us. This was the She suggested >> I'm sorry. I'm sorry.
[48:04]>> Thank you. >> Probably helped.
[48:44]It probably helped. Yeah. >> Who what?
[49:48]>> All right. So, he said >> Who what? >> This is easier. >> last >> I don't know actually. >> That's the way I want to go down here.
[50:03]>> What's the weather? Is it sunny today? >> Um I know about myself and
[50:13]the weather now. >> You only have us. >> Harry Jordan >> They were talking about us. >> It's fine.
[50:27]>> Um Austin said so. And then Um you know, Austin probably told Um Is there something else? Austin >> Yes, he did. >> Never mind. >> black book
[50:38]>> No, no, no. Um So, yeah, never mind. >> True? >> Since he said Um >> Yeah, she said so. >> She said so. >> last book >> I'm sorry, I didn't really let that out.
[50:48]>> Logan black book >> Um >> It's feeling good. >> Really? >> Really? >> That's the other
[50:58]>> Yeah, it's >> Sorry, my bad. No, not like that.
[51:10]>> Oh, wow. >> Yeah, that's what she said. I I I >> I think you feel that. >> You never mind. >> No, I didn't really >> That's what I mean.
[51:22]>> Yeah, it's I didn't see >> They all make deals. >> I have a deal. >> It's pretty
[51:33]>> You think you're going to win? >> I have to say Yeah, yeah. Yeah, it's like >> See that?
[51:44]>> I mean, some deals were like usually they do All right. All right.
[51:59]All right. All right. Yeah.
[52:30]So, Yeah, that's why. I figured We were always going They're
[52:41]I mean, They don't put alcohol in it. Oh, I see. That's why. I just switched out. You figured that out. Scandinavians are civilized. You would know.
[52:55]It is soda house. Are you selling it? She sold her Oh. She had a house in I called her. I called her the first time. Yeah. She
[53:05]sold her last She sold her New York Everything is I don't This kid nice. Yeah. There you go. I don't know.
[53:16]Yeah. So, this is the So, the next time
[53:29]Yeah. Who does he It's not really important he says to me. I did this. Okay, fine. I'm not a problem.
[53:39]She is somewhere else. But, I >> I moved to Jersey when I
[54:13]Well, no, I moved to New York and then and then to New Jersey. So, I lived So, the
[54:35]But, the crime in the Union is really bad. The crime >> Do you know what I'm >> Do you know what I'm talking about? >> Huh? >> Do you know what I'm talking about? >> You could go to the Cranford
[54:45]>> You can watch the still hunt. >> Have you been Have you looked at the town of Jersey, though? >> No. >> But, it's only uh He was like Essex County. But, the Jersey side is
[54:56]>> Mhm. >> Essex County is higher taxes. Depending on the town. >> Oh, yeah. >> And then if you get into the There's a small town Or Clark can be in Essex too. I mean, it's but if you get into Union
[55:08]County, There was a little town of >> Mhm. >> But, there's some really nice towns there. >> You know, I'm working >> But, it's also a nice town in New York too. Probably yeah. How long is the train ride? >> Yeah, I feel like
[55:19]>> That's good. I needed Essex County. >> Because the train line to my South Orange Yeah, that's true.
[55:30]>> We were just up in New York uh in Jersey 2 weeks ago. >> Whereabouts? >> Um so, I got to say it's like We were in New York. But they were
[55:42]everywhere we went. I was Yeah. Newark, New Jersey. So, that's like the So, our restaurant Like y'all >> Yeah, yeah.
[55:53]>> So, that's like where we're all from. >> Yeah. >> It's like West Orange, East Orange, Orange. Newark, New But then like West Orange is decent. >> Mhm.
[56:05]>> And West Orange East Orange Yeah. >> They have all the medicine. >> They have the Yeah.
[56:15]>> But That's where my We had our kids there. >> Uh >> That's what I'm saying.
[56:26]>> I want >> First we need to stop at It's probably going to be We're 2007. >> Okay, so >> Right around
[56:37]We pop up in basically >> Yeah. >> 20 years ago was a good The Whitney years ago. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, that's not too bad.
[56:48]>> I can say that again. >> Probably purposefully guys This is the taxes >> Uh Uh
[56:59]>> But if you go to Cranford, one time from further out The name was calculated. >> So, it's to this >> Just like
[57:09]35 >> Two days. I don't think it's that bad. >> No, it's not. But they transferred >> That's that's what >> You don't go to the treaty So, the buses have a tendency to
[57:20]>> The bus all the way through? >> Bus all the way through. But it's 20 They're all the way in And so, they That's like
[57:31]Hason Yana. >> I'll be right back. >> You want to hop You want to come top? >> What? >> Can you talk to us now? >> I really like to get some pizza, but all right. >> What are you getting? >> Sounds like it got pretty heated in there. Can you give us a read out?
[57:43]>> Hold on. Hold on. >> Okay. Let us know when you're ready. >> Who's? >> Ready. >> Purdue with two T's. Somebody need a white balance? Are we good? >> Yeah. >> I'm good. >> All right, baby. >> Sounds like it got heated in there.
[57:55]Democrats left and cursed >> I mean, that's all staged. We knew that was going to happen. They started off at the beginning. They didn't want to ask questions. And why not? You could and they said, "We're going to wait till whenever." Why not ask them then and
[58:06]then ask them again? And then if she said something that was totally different, you'd have them. Now, it's all either one or two things. Either they decided all to do that
[58:17]beforehand or they were trying to get to the pizza before I did. But, one of those two things. >> true that the Attorney General wouldn't confirm to a deposition that she was asked multiple times that was
[58:28]filibustering and not giving a clear response? >> She said she's going to stick to the law. Whatever the law is, that's what it is. So, I'm not the attorney, but that was a legal answer and that's what she's
[58:38]required to do as the Attorney General. >> And Congresswoman Lee said that she directed a question to Chairman Comer saying is she is asking him if he would force the Attorney Generals to comply
[58:48]with the subpoena and she claims that Comer said that she was bitching. Can you confirm that he said that? >> I wasn't paying If he said that, I didn't hear it. I'm not saying he didn't
[58:59]say it, but it did get heated, but it was all staged. I mean, you know, it's You can tell it cuz it just built up to it and then the one certain ones that you knew would would start screaming and raising their
[59:10]voice and the others would rise up in righteous indignation. But, you know, every time I've every every conversation I've had with them has been wide open. They've not given me the runaround and
[59:22]they offered if we want to come by the office, do that. And I've had conversations with them. I've never honestly gone by their office. I've never wanted to, but every uh I had a phone call with them not long
[59:33]ago and um made an inquiry and 15 minutes later I was on the phone with them. >> What questions if any were asked about uh going back to being transferred to
[59:44]another prison? I I didn't know that. >> There weren't any The Democrats didn't ask any questions. They just made statements. >> What about uh Republicans? Did they ask about the national transfer? >> No. No. I think they're just trying to
[59:55]get to the nuts and bolts of the of of the um the victims and the perpetrators. And I want to correct something. Uh
[1:00:06]some of my Democrat colleagues keep saying they somebody would keep saying that they they had sex with these kids. They didn't have sex with those kids. They raped those kids. So, I I'd like to clarify that. I hate
[1:00:17]it when I hear people say that. That turns my stomach. >> Did you get to ask questions? >> Do what? >> Did you get to ask questions? >> Yeah. Yeah. >> Did you get to ask questions? >> Yeah. I was curious about there's I don't understand the law in this
[1:00:28]respect. I've passed a lot of laws in Tennessee. They're in some of the toughest laws in the country. I CAC, I passed a a um a death penalty that was ruled unconstitutional, but now the courts in Tennessee have have re-passed it in
[1:00:40]later later years and it's been found um legal. I had two questions. One was dealing with the um um one of them was dealing with
[1:00:50]Let's see. If If some of the when they were children uh that were abused or raped and then
[1:01:00]when they got to be adults, if they were used either lure or uh brought others in for whatever reason, were they in then in that turn
[1:01:11]were they um uh breaking the law? Were they perpetrators in all this? And it was It's a case-by-case thing. So, you have to diagnose each one. And that
[1:01:21]that's what I was really trying to find out because I've heard that a lot from both sides that people have read the files and seen things. And um my other one dealt with um
[1:01:32]um doxing of some of the people that have been you know cuz I know that some of my friends across the aisle have thrown some names
[1:01:42]out. We're not really sure if they um were involved or not. So I mean there's it when Comer was doing it, remember when when Chairman Comer was doing it
[1:01:53]before the um the legislation, he'd released over 10,000 files. And I dare say anybody read all 10,000 pages. And then when they were forced to
[1:02:03]release the files, they um in their haste, they probably they could have released some names of people they didn't intend to. But they hadn't under
[1:02:12]the Comer situation. So Chairman Comer was doing it and he was releasing them but yeah, there's allegedly millions of files. >> Congressman, do you feel like the
[1:02:22]deposition is still necessary now that the Attorney General [clears throat] came in and talked to you guys before in the court? >> I don't think it's going to matter either way. I think you're going to have people that want to make a show for the
[1:02:33]for the for for y'all. It on both sides of the aisle. So I think people are going to relish it. You know, they're going to wear their good suits and come in on that day fired up to get some press.
[1:02:45]>> You would you would voted to subpoena the first. >> Oh, absolutely. Yeah, I think it's it's a legitimate it's a legitimate thing to do. So >> So was this enough >> But I don't know that I don't know we haven't got any questions answered in
[1:02:56]the fact that you can go there and ask the questions. It's sort of like when people want to have public forums and really all they want to do is yell at you in front of the cameras. And when I offer those same people the
[1:03:08]opportunity to come to my office and talk one-on-one or with with their whole group, bring them in, they never want to do that. So it's it's kind of you know, I I just
[1:03:17]feel like it's a it's a political thing. You got a right to do it and we have a right to subpoena them and and but again, I'm not an attorney, so that's up to legal interpretation, I guess.
[1:03:29]>> Democrats said that there should be contempt >> I can't hear you. Just go ahead. >> Democrats said there should be contempt proceedings if she doesn't comply with the subpoena. Is that something you would support? >> I don't know. Again, I just have to look
[1:03:40]at the legal interpretation of what's going on with that. I would assume she I don't think she's trying to duck anybody out and she hasn't run off on any questions. She answered all their questions when they asked them. Their
[1:03:51]their frustration was with us on our side of the aisle, not with not with her. >> So, was this enough for you? Do you think she should come back to the >> I don't know what you else you're going to ask her. It's the same stuff, same
[1:04:02]questions over and over and over again. You're going to get the same answer. I just it it's it's it's unfortunate that we're at this stage, but I it one thing that I'm focused on, too, was I mean, this is
[1:04:14]the tip of the iceberg of what's going on in our country and in our world. These deviants are out there and we need to go after them. And this is this is not isolated to Epstein's
[1:04:24]Island. It's in every state. When I passed ICAC, I was getting the unbelievable amount of $5 million for our three grand divisions to state of Tennessee. And I know that's nothing, but in
[1:04:35]Tennessee, that's a lot of money. And a lady who sitting beside me, she's a Democrat, was a dear friend of mine and she asked about one of her small counties. It was they had the board lit up and you could see who was um
[1:04:47]and ICAC goes after people they they pose as children on the computer and you know, and then then the the dirt bags think they're kids and they're going to go rape them in a motel
[1:04:57]room and then they have the cops waiting there. Fortunately, they don't beat the crap out of them. They do all the other stuff. They arrest them. But but But my point was with this in this small little county,
[1:05:08]there were three lights lit up at that time. This was gosh, this is almost 20 years ago. And there were three dark bags trying to lure children in at that time in her little county. And that's
[1:05:19]when I knew I was going to get $5 million funding. >> Were was these three general or deputies general asked about the redaction process and why some names were redacted
[1:05:31]that shouldn't be or how did they explain or answer to that? >> Yeah, they said that from what I understood was is like what I'd said they were in the rush that if
[1:05:43]there were mistakes made it was due to that. But, if you look at Comer's deal when he was getting the files, again, 10,000 files in just a short amount of
[1:05:52]time that nobody had read all 10,000 files. We didn't have that problem. Are we good? Everybody? All right. Does anybody know where the pizza is?
[1:06:04]Seriously. Really? Where you going? All right. See y'all. Don't forget under the Birch administration we have pizza for
[1:06:13]everybody. All right, there you go. >> That's it.
[1:06:45]Yes. >> I know.
[1:06:59]>> You said that windows. >> I don't know. different
[1:07:09]I'm still on >> Yeah. >> What's your time? >> Yeah.
[1:07:24]>> Yeah. >> Yeah, sure. >> No, only if wanted someone else to have it. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. >> I think you can ask. I don't think
[1:07:34]there's any technical rule against it. >> I might ask. I think there's there's a social faux pas about that. >> No, I'm kidding. >> That would be pretty fun. >> Um I do Yeah, I think there's
[1:07:55]I think that's a fair point. >> Just guessing. >> Great. Perfect. Something tells me you're not going to
[1:08:09]need a lot. >> Oh. >> Yeah, but I mean >> Oh, that smells so good and
[1:08:35]>> For fun? >> Yeah, I know. >> No, it's not >> You know what? >> No, I know. >> Mhm.
[1:08:50]Same show? >> Yeah, yeah. >> No, I don't think >> Boy, I know. >> I do. >> Oh. >> Somebody else had one.
[1:09:01]>> Yeah, that's right. Yeah, so >> Well, that would be good.
[1:09:55]>> Somebody was doing it during the procedure. >> Yeah, I didn't I don't know what the
[1:10:05]sound was like. >> Uh so, it's like New York City.
[1:10:58]>> [snorts] >> I'll be in Chicago. I want I feel like every >> [clears throat]
[1:11:15]>> I did it with a girl who was like But if you're hanging out with like
[1:11:31]So people who But um
[1:11:45]I didn't live there. My ex-girlfriend I'm good friends with Mhm. It is. Actually Yeah. Basically
[1:11:58]Basically What part of the I When I When I spoke to her I didn't mind it there. Even though the point you know, even though the point
[1:12:07]in DC But also in New York
[1:12:22]I think it's Atlanta. Yeah, I went to DC. I'm just saying
[1:12:36]I mean it's not a He said I think that Yeah, same to He made me He made me He made me say okay. Yeah. But the reason he got it
[1:12:47]Mhm. I need to get That's the movie We're in Texas. No, anywhere except for Dallas.
[1:13:13]I wouldn't mind being like Orlando The rest of the Yeah. I don't know what the
[1:13:25]I think I would Seattle. I don't know why I like the weather. I like the climate in the winter. Winter is like
[1:13:37]I think it's November and summer is And then November >> Mhm. >> So, it's just >> I like that. >> The weather there is Did you go back to New York?
[1:13:52]>> Yeah. >> Oh, really? It's like >> You don't do anything there anymore? >> I would
[1:14:02]If I had to do it It would be nice to do it. Yeah. It's like we're all kind of around here. >> Yeah.
[1:14:13]>> Not to be a scheming But With my old my two older sons
[1:14:24]both really good students. The town different steps that I miss that every This is also like It was kind of like >> Mhm.
[1:14:41]>> I thought I thought maybe about like you know. >> There is nothing to do there. 14 years. That's a long time. >> Right. >> You walk down there. >> I'm going to circle around.
[1:16:04]>> Yeah, actually that's a good call. >> It looks like we're
[1:18:37]>> You are welcome. >> I said block. >> You're just a blessing in disguise.
[1:18:49]Y'all good. >> It's cool. >> So common. >> Korean buffet. >> All right, okay.
[1:19:02]>> She's kind of a >> What's up? >> That's my girl. Here on >> Yeah, cool. >> Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm good. Good morning. >> Take care of yourself.
[1:19:12]>> I have the right to fire you. I'm going to go to Paris and have a capital public. Going to start your own thing. Yeah, we're I'm super excited. We're getting stuff done about a center.
[1:19:23]>> Well, I'm going to go to Capital Public. >> Your space. >> It's much better. >> The team is nothing. >> You can't go to jail for You can't go to jail for that. >> You can't stalk people on the >> Why would I put
[1:19:35]>> This building is expensive. >> How much is it a month? >> Is it that much? >> The little money is stopping us. >> This is crappy. >> These two wise guys. They do wise guys. >> That's that's what he means.
[1:19:45]>> I think so. >> I think so. >> He knows that. >> Did you call him on that?
[1:19:55]>> Yeah. >> Nope. >> He did. >> Yeah, he did. >> He said something about >> Who? >> I don't want to say their names here.
[1:20:07]>> It's about her. >> Uh we got to run away. >> I'm playing. >> What kind of is? >> Yeah, she was >> Second service. >> You're right. >> Huh? >> What? >> What do you mean what?
[1:20:18]>> She was talking about the >> You like yourself. >> Maybe people are happy. >> I'm so excited to order you lunch. >> Oh, you're right. Okay. >> I cannot wait to read it.
[1:20:30]>> I'm excited. >> What is this like this? >> First of all, >> Yeah. >> Miss Bonnie, you cut your hair.
[1:20:41]>> [laughter] >> You're fine.
[1:21:53]All right. >> Uh-huh.
[1:22:37]Okay. Okay. Thank you.
[1:23:22]Oh, yeah. Thank you. Did you let him in the room? >> Yes. >> Look at this guy. >> Wow. >> Mhm. >> Yeah, that's great.
[1:23:42]Yeah, we're good. >> Wait. There it goes. >> Did you see all that? >> [laughter]
[1:23:59]>> Oh, my god. >> Yeah, that's why. >> You don't have to do that. >> I'm sorry. >> It's like I literally >> I was just joking around. >> My first day. >> I like those old Chinese >> I ate it all.
[1:24:08]>> I didn't used to do it when I did. >> Yeah. >> I like that. >> Something. >> I like this dress. >> Yeah. >> She's got >> Yeah. >> She's got the same
[1:24:20]>> Who like the photos? >> I like first >> I like the second. >> So really? That was really pretty though.
[1:24:37]It was hot. >> Um >> So what is >> Oh, not true. >> Oh, yeah, no pearls.
[1:24:50]>> Yeah. >> Yeah. >> Yeah, no pearls. >> Oh, yeah. >> Huh?
[1:25:05]I did double-check the doors were locked. >> Oh, yeah.
[1:25:37]>> Put that together. >> Well >> No. >> I would have said no. I know we're all about BTS. >> Really? >> Three years ago.
[1:25:47]>> I was like >> Oh, really? >> I was like no way. >> Yeah, that's it. >> That's right. >> So fun.
[1:26:01]And like you said >> [clears throat]
[1:26:18]>> What else? >> Questions? Mr. Attorney General?
[1:27:37]>> Sure. >> Earlier this month, a bipartisan group of lawmakers on the House Oversight Committee voted to subpoena you to appear for a closed-door deposition. Do you plan Do you Will you commit to
[1:27:48]Will you commit to complying with that subpoena and appearing for a closed-door deposition? >> I made it crystal clear I will follow the law. >> But does that mean you will Does that mean you >> Next question. >> Uh
[1:27:59]victim attorneys say that the release of that scene identifying that scene victims was one of the single most egregious violations of victim privacy in modern American history. You built
[1:28:10]your career on being a victim advocate. >> Yeah. >> Will you will you apologize to the victims? What do you have to say for that conduct? >> Can can you explain what you mean by identify? You mean victims names that were released that shouldn't have been?
[1:28:22]>> Exactly. >> Yeah, so and also other items. >> Yeah, so so under the Epstein Transparency Act, we had 30 days to redact and release under the law that
[1:28:32]was passed 3 million documents. If you stack those up, that's the height of the Eiffel Tower. No other administration under the Biden administration, they released zero
[1:28:44]documents. So, we did our very best to comply with the law. And of course, we don't want any victim to be further victimized, and that's why we had 500
[1:28:55]attorneys with the criminal division, with the national security division, with the FBI working around the clock to do the best we could. I think it was
[1:29:05]less than 1% um error. Todd, do you want to add to that? >> Yeah, no, that's Right. And we we said from the beginning that that any mistakes that were made, and there should be no mistakes. And so, when you
[1:29:15]say lawyers have said something, that's a that's not a fair question, and you know it. Because we took pains to make to protect victims. When we were ident- when when someone identified that there was a
[1:29:26]victim, we immediately pulled that document down, fixed it, and put it back up. >> Immediately. >> Immediately. And so so, of course, we don't ever want to do anything to to revictimize anybody that was victimized
[1:29:38]by by the horrible crimes of Mr. Epstein. But but and we didn't. And we didn't. To the extent that mistakes were made, and there were mistakes made because of the reasons the attorney attorney general just said. But when
[1:29:50]they were identified to us, we fixed them immediately. >> And and and let me let me be clear on on this case. This case has spanned multiple administrations. It started
[1:30:01]under Bush. It went to Obama. It went to Biden. We were the only no documents were released. Only under the Trump
[1:30:12]administration and we released 3 million documents, had 500 attorneys working on that, complying with the law the best we could and protecting victims in doing it.
[1:30:23]>> Madam Attorney General >> This has been quite an odyssey for you. This began um with an encounter you had with some activists in Roosevelt Room where you handed out some binders.
[1:30:33]Then there was a discussion a a statement that the FBI and DOJ put out that this investigation was over. Uh flash ahead to a couple of weeks ago, you had a very unusual appearance before
[1:30:45]the House Judiciary Committee. Is there Do you have any regrets? Is there anything you might have done differently? And do you think that your comportment and the department's comportment in this have exacerbated the public's lack of trust in this process?
[1:30:56]Well, let me repeat what I just said. This has spanned four administrations, Bush, Obama,
[1:31:06]well, Trump won, 45, where Jeffrey Epstein was prosecuted, and then Joe Biden's administration,
[1:31:14]where zero documents were provided. We have provided 3 million documents. 3 million documents, the height of the
[1:31:24]Eiffel Tower, used 500 attorneys working around the clock, have identified either they self-identified or through their
[1:31:32]attorneys, 1,200 victims who we did our very, very best to protect their identities. And so, we're proud of the work that we've done on this. Go ahead. Next question.
[1:31:44]>> Members of the committee walked out. They called it a quote fake hearing and said you were just trying to get around appearing for a deposition. Can you respond to that? >> Sure. Um we were there to answer questions. It's the evening. We came at
[1:31:56]their convenience. Um we gave them as really as much time as they wanted. And one congresswoman screamed C-SPAN wasn't in there, so she didn't want to ask questions. Yet, all day long they've
[1:32:07]been on social media saying they had all these questions. We sat there saying, "Anything you want to ask us, ask us anything you want to ask us." And they screamed C-SPAN wasn't there, one of them, and then they stormed out of the meeting, so.
[1:32:19]>> Can you just Thank you all. Thank you. Have a good night. Thank you. Some victims Some victims have said they aren't satisfied with responses they've received in your office. >> Of course. Have fun.
[1:34:00]>> All right, well, uh appreciate the Attorney General coming in for a briefing. Uh this was a voluntary briefing and uh at least uh majority got to ask a lot of substantive questions.
[1:34:11]It was very disappointing what the Democrats have done. I believe that was premeditated. They came out clutching their pearls, complaining that uh you know, she wasn't answering any questions
[1:34:21]and and things like that. The first three people to ask questions, all they did was complain. All they did was complain. They didn't ask any questions. The Attorney General's here, uh
[1:34:31]but they they said they wanted to see C-SPAN in here. They want They want the cameras and uh very very typical behavior of the Democrats. Very disappointing because I really felt like
[1:34:42]there were a lot of the Democrat members that cared about getting the truth, but uh I've never seen
[1:34:52]members storm out of a briefing with the Attorney General and the entire leaders of the Department of Justice are there to answer questions, and they don't ask a single question. So, but uh
[1:35:04]I think what what we heard today helped us. Uh we'll continue uh with our investigation and uh move forward. Any questions, Annie? >> can I ask a >> Will you still move forward with the
[1:35:15]subpoena for Attorney General Bondi? >> That's what That's what we That's what we plan on doing. >> Mr. Chairman, >> Yes. >> if Attorney General Pam Bondi does not comply with the subpoena, will you commit to go down the road of contempt?
[1:35:26]>> Well, we'll have to we'll have to talk about it. I will tell you some of the members who voted to subpoena her today were pretty embarrassed by the way the Democrats acted in their lack of sincerity in having her in.
[1:35:37]>> But will you hold Will you hold the Attorney General to the same standard? >> Well, we'll have to talk about We will have to talk about it as a committee, so. >> Chairman, when you say some of the members who voted to subpoena were said embarrassed, was there Republican
[1:35:48]members who voted to subpoena? Did they ask her pressing questions in the room? >> They did. Hard-hitting, substantive questions. Well, and I I told the I told the Attorney General, I spoke on numerous occasions. I'm like, "We are
[1:36:00]serious about this investigation. This isn't a political game. The Our constituents want answers. The American people want answers. We want to work with you. Uh if we're going down a a
[1:36:10]lane where you have an ongoing investigation, uh then tell us. We don't want to interfere or impede, but we planning on we plan on moving forward. We plan on getting answers for the American people,
[1:36:22]and hopefully we'll be able to uh get more answers and and, you know, I think everyone hopes that some people are held accountable to where we can get some accountability. But, as I've
[1:36:34]said earlier, the there we're seeing accountability. There over a dozen men and women who have already resigned from very powerful, prestigious boards because of what has come out in public. And what's come out in public is because
[1:36:45]of the Oversight subpoena, the DOJ documents, and the Oversight subpoena of the Epstein estate documents. So, I'll do one more question. I'm >> Congresswoman Summer Lee said that you told her that she was quote bitching
[1:36:57]about something in the room. Is that accurate? >> That is accurate. >> What? What was she >> Well, she was just complaining about the format. And and uh that was the fourth Democrat to ask
[1:37:09]questions. And they didn't ask any questions. They did not ask any questions. I'm like, "My goodness, this is the Attorney General. You've been complaining." And this is why I think they did that. Because they've worked with some of you
[1:37:20]in the media to try to create a false narrative that there's a cover-up. Does it look like a cover-up? The Attorney General and Blanche and all the top brass at the
[1:37:30]DOJ in here to answer questions. And yet they don't ask a single question. The only questions they asked, "Will you commit to coming in for a deposition? Will you commit to coming in for a deposition?" They didn't ask a
[1:37:41]single question. "What Where are we on the documents? Do you say there's an ongoing investigation? Do you think anyone is about to be prosecuted? Uh Uh
[1:37:51]was Jeffrey Epstein an agent? These are questions that that we asked in the deposition. And they had an opportunity to ask and they didn't. But fortunately for
[1:38:02]everyone in the public who wants answers and who wants transparency and accountability, fortunately the Republicans on the committee asked a lot of questions. So >> Mr. Chairman, I follow up. Do you want
[1:38:13]her to testify under oath? You personally. >> I mean, I want to talk to everyone. I want to talk to everyone. I don't uh >> But this was not This was not the time >> I personally I personally don't see any
[1:38:25]reason for her to do a deposition. Uh she's the sitting attorney general. She's turning over documents. I think the Democrats want to do this to embarrass her. I did not vote for the subpoena to
[1:38:37]uh to bring her in for a deposition. I want to bring in the bad guys for the deposition. I want to bring in the men who have abused women. I want to bring in uh anyone who is involved in the
[1:38:48]prosecution and or lack of prosecution of Epstein, Maxwell, and and some of these other guys. So, that's where I think our time and energy should should be spent, but we had five Republicans
[1:38:59]vote with the Democrats. And again, the Democrats had an opportunity to ask questions. They didn't ask a single pertinent question. >> Is the White House reaching out to some of these Republicans who voted for the subpoena? >> Uh not not to my knowledge. You'll have
[1:39:11]to ask the White House. I I'll do one more question. >> do you think today's meeting helps satisfy any of those members who >> The Democrats? >> Or Republicans? >> Uh I think the Republicans that had
[1:39:22]concerns, now Ms. Mace wasn't able to be here today, but uh you know, you look at the other ones that voted for the subpoena. They asked very tough, substantive,
[1:39:34]hard-hitting questions and uh pressed her on on some answers. So, I I I know. You'll have to ask the them, but I feel like that they were happy with
[1:39:45]the with the dialogue and this isn't the end. We want to keep working with the Department of Justice because we sincerely want to get every answer that every curious credible media outlet has
[1:39:55]and every curious credible American has. But, you know, what I saw today, quite frankly, was the Democrats trying to, you know, embarrass Pam Bondi,
[1:40:07]trying to get that clip for Rachel Maddow tonight on the MSNBC, trying to somehow uh salvage their false narrative that there's a cover-up and that that
[1:40:18]Trump's guilty of of crimes. It's very disappointing because as I said a million times you all and I will walk out of here. The
[1:40:27]investigation is about getting justice for the victims. The investigation's about getting transparency for the American people. The investigation's about trying, if it anyway possible,
[1:40:39]to hold many people accountable, recognizing the fact that some of these crimes were committed 30 years ago. And we're going to keep pressing
[1:40:49]forward. We've got eight people coming in. We have seven uh depositions scheduled. We've asked the security guard to come in. If she
[1:40:59]doesn't, she will get a subpoena. Uh there's some other people on our radar list. We're going to ask some of the people that we bring in for deposition some questions to to maybe determine whether or not we're going to bring in
[1:41:10]more people for for depositions. Uh we expect Lutnick to come in very soon. We have, you know, some members of the committee have questions for for him. No one's accusing him of any wrongdoing. But, uh
[1:41:21]at the end of the day, I hope you all recognize, you know, we've we've brought in Bondi for question. We brought in Bill Barr for deposition. We brought in Alex Acosta. We're going to
[1:41:33]bring in Lutnick. I don't ever remember the Democ- I've been on the committee nine years. The whole time I've been in Congress. I don't ever remember Elijah Cummings or Carolyn Maloney
[1:41:42]bringing in a single Democrat prominent person for anything. For anything. So, this isn't about party. This for us, for the Republicans, it's about getting answers. For the Democrats, it's a political game and
[1:41:54]they just demonstrated that today. There's no reason for them to walk out and clutch their pearls and act like they were offended and outraged and everything else. My gosh.
[1:42:04]Um I think the American people saw their true colors today and uh but that it's not going to deter the Republicans from from moving forward. So, thank you all for being here. >> Thank you.
[1:42:22]>> Thank you. >> Um just a reminder, any garden variety questions >> Yes. >> I did take a picture of it. I can't
[1:42:42]remember what it I didn't know what it was. It's like the name of it. Yeah, no, that's I I think that's what it was.
[1:42:53]>> I mean, I would rather >> Yeah. >> Um If you guys could just put the mics
[1:43:03]down, like just tuck it into >> Excellent. >> Yeah, yeah, yeah. >> Okay, I'm heading up to five.
[1:45:29]>> Mhm. >> Mhm.
